LACROSSE in WEST VIRGINIA
NEWS ARCHIVES - FALL 2024
Sept. 29 - 11:00 AM
MORE DETAILS:
On October 19th,
2024, we've planned a full day of sixes
lacrosse to allow our athletes another
opportunity to compete in the fall. Each
region of the state (Eastern Panhandle,
Central Area, Northern Panhandle, and Southern
Region) can submit a regional representative
team for the tournament. Teams can be
comprised of the athletes within the local
region (for example - a team of Preston,
Fairmont, Morgantown, and University play
together as the Central Region.
- We
have chosen to do regional representative
teams due to the many athletes competing in
other fall sports.
This allows our athletes
to participate in an excellent off-season
event that will strengthen their skills and
create exposure for college coaches through
social media posts and extra film.
The
tournament will be held at Holloway Field on
the Linsly School campus (the area directly
behind TJ's Sports Garden) in Wheeling.
-
Each roster is to be composed of a maximum of
15 players.
- Games will be 12-minute
quarters - running clock.
- It will follow
the fast-paced nature of the Olympic Sixes
format.
- There will be two semifinal
games, a championship game,
and a
consolation game (2 games total).
- With
success, we hope to expand this event to more
teams next year.
The Northern Panhandle and
Southern Region have teams ready to go.
Once completed, please email your teams or
person so we can prepare the bracket.
There is no cost to play.
Please email
Tucker Wilkinson
at twilkinson@linsly.org if you have
any questions.
