WHEELING - Oct. 2 - In the "Better Late Than Never" department, the ECAC announced their Division II Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Honors on May 22. The student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Among the honorees are Wheeling Jesuit's Joe Wright, a Capital High grad and 2013 High School All American. |

Wheeling Jesuit's head coach, invites
you to their first annual Wheeling Community
Lacrosse Day at WJU on Saturday, October 11.
It is a free event hosted by the WJU men's
lacrosse program and includes a WJU Varsity
scrimmage, a pot luck BBQ & Picnic, a Fastest
Shot Contest for Local Players, and a FREE
clinic and 7v7 games for youth & HS Players.
This event is aimed at supporting the growth
of lacrosse in the Wheeling area while
building friendships between the WJU program
and local lacrosse players and their
families. 2:00 PM - BBQ & Picnic during the WJU Lacrosse Scrimmage. Who has the fastest shot in Wheeling? We will have a radar gun for a Youth & HS Fastest Shot Contest at halftime.
4:00 PM - Free
Lacrosse Clinic run by WJU Lacrosse, followed
by organized 7v7 games.
*During the clinic Coach Dugan is going to
demonstrate a simple drill that lacrosse Moms
or Dads can do with their son even if they
have no lacrosse experience. |

WHEELING - Oct. 30 - WJU Set to Welcome 40 Lacrosse Teams, Pro Franchise to Campus |
WJU head men's lacrosse coach, Kevin Dugan,
has a lot to be happy about right now. His
program is on the heels of one of the best
seasons in program history, and just wrapped
up a highly productive fall campaign that saw
several talented newcomers join the program.
However, what has Dugan excited this week is
the professional lacrosse franchise (The Ohio
Machine of Major League Lacrosse) and 40
youth / high school teams that will be making
their way to campus this Sunday, November 2,
for the WJU Big Shot 7v7 lacrosse tournament. "This Sunday's event is going to be a great day for Wheeling Jesuit and for the game lacrosse in this region of the country," said Dugan. "Everyone on campus has been working hard to make sure we are prepared to welcome this big group of visitors to campus." The University is expecting well over 1,500 visitors for the lacrosse tournament that will played on Emily LaRosa Field, McDonough Field and the newly renovated Bishop Schmitt turf field. Games are set to begin at 8:30 AM on Sunday and will run until 4:00 PM. In addition to welcoming all the youth and high school programs, WJU will also play host to the Ohio Machine. The Machine, based in Columbus, Ohio, are the only Major League Lacrosse franchise is this region and are assisting in the management and organization of the event. The Machine are also seeking to develop and promote the game of lacrosse and their franchise to lacrosse enthusiasts here in West Virginia. "We are excited to work with WJU to make this
a great event and hope it serves to help fuel
the continued growth of lacrosse in West
Virginia," commented Bear Davis, head coach
and Vice President of the Ohio Machine. |

CHESWICK, PA - Nov. 14 - True Lacrosse
will be hosting their 2nd Annual Holiday
Madness, a 6v6 tourney on Tuesday,
December 30 at the Pittsburgh Indoor Sports
Arena (PISA).
It will include 10 U15 teams and 10 U13
teams. Players Min. 13 & max. 18 - Starts at
8:00 AM - Ends by 5::00 PM - 6x6 goals -
hybrid box game - 4 games 25 minutes long -

WHEELING - Nov. 18 - The WV Chapter of US Lacrosse and the WVSLA are happy to announce that Wheeling Jesuit University and WJU's Coach Dugan have agreed to again host the WVSLA All Star games on May. 30. New this year will be the addition of an All Star Game for the girls. The girls will face off at 12 PM with the boys game to follow. Awards will be presented at the halftime of each game. Coaching the teams will be the head coaches of the teams on the playoffs. The championship head coach will be head coach of one team, while the runners up head coach will lead the other team. Assistant coaches will be the head coaches of the losing teams in the brackets. |
